The bank subsequently obtained a license from the U.S Federal Reserve Board (FRB) in 1984 to operate a Federal Branch. The Parent company, United Bank for Africa Plc (UBA) is incorporated in Nigeria and quoted on the Nigerian Stock Exchange. It is the third largest bank in Nigeria, with an estimated 10% market share.
